Dr. Bernard D. Shapiro has been practicing dentistry at our office for over 35 years. Upon graduation from dental school, he served for two years as a dentist in the Navy at Parris Island, South Carolina. He moved to Connecticut in 1970, at which time, he opened a practice in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Throughout his years of practicing dentistry, he has enjoyed taking many continuing education specialty courses, including orthodontics and periodontics. He is a current member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the Hartford Dental Society. In his spare time, Dr. Shapiro enjoys boating and skiing. He and his wife, Tara, live in the Hartford area and have one daughter, Fawn, who is a physical therapist at McLean Home in Simsbury, and a son, Neil, who is the other dentist in our practice. They have two granddaughters, Rachel and Jillian.
Dr. Neil A. Shapiro is a 1998 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation from dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency Program at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he obtained a great deal of experience in oral surgery and oral facial repairs following traumatic injury. Dr. Neil has taken many continuing education courses to be able to provide many cosmetic services, root canals, oral surgery, implants and bone grafting for his patients. He is a current member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the Hartford Dental Society. In his spare time, he plays many musical instruments and composes songs. You can see him performing with different bands at social functions in the Hartford area. He and his wife, Tammy, live in the Hartford area with their two children, Warren and Jillian.
